Frocktober, from the Dwell Project

The Dwell Project, who received a grant from Together in Service, have launched their Frocktober campaign for 2014, which aims to raise awareness of domestic violence.

Frocktober is not just about the dress, it’s about empowering women. Empowering each other to speak out about domestic violence. A devastating experience that 1 in 3 of us will experience in our lives. An experience that ends in death for at least 2 women a week! It’s about saying we will no longer be silent about the violence against women we hear about, we see and experience in our homes and communities.

They’re looking for Christian and Muslim women to get involved, simply by sending in a photo of themselves holding up a sign of support. These photos will be shared through the month via their Twitter and Facebook, and will form part of an exhibition that will be held throughout the UK.

For more information, and to get involved, please visit the Dwell Project’s Frocktober page.

They’ve also put up a guest blog with the Christian Muslim Forum about the campaign.
