The Kings Fund: What’s in store for health and care in 2026
The King’s Fund are hosting a free online event titled “What’s in Store for Health and Care in 2026,” bringing together health and care leaders, practitioners and stakeholders to explore what the year ahead may hold for the NHS and social care.
The event will take place against a challenging backdrop, including rising demand, workforce pressures, ongoing fragility in social care, industrial action and low public satisfaction with services. It will provide an opportunity to reflect on these pressures and consider how progress might be made in 2026.
Speakers will explore both the risks and opportunities facing the health and care system, highlighting areas where there are reasons for optimism. Planned discussions include the role of community partnerships in neighbourhood health, progress towards a new cancer plan, and how AI and innovation could be responsibly scaled to support health and social care.
Drawing on insights from across the sector, the event aims to support informed discussion about how policy, practice and community engagement can work together more effectively.
