Healthwatch England: The state of health and social care in 2026

Healthwatch also notes a rise in private care, with usage nearly doubling from 2023 to 2025, reflecting growing frustration with NHS access. The organisation calls for faster reforms and patient-focused solutions to maintain universal healthcare access before its closure later this year.
