Resources launched to embed mental health in housing policies

The Centre for Mental Health and Healthy Homes Hub have launched two new resources to help social housing providers embed mental health into policy and operations. With one in three social housing residents living with a long-term mental health condition, many current practices—like complex letters or rigid processes—can worsen stress and confusion. The resources, including a framework and practical checklist, guide providers to design services that are safe, respectful, and supportive, ensuring housing promotes psychological safety, stability, belonging, and dignity for all residents.
