NHS England Experience of Care: Co-production Advisory Board

The Experience of Care team at NHS England and NHS Improvement lead on the work to embed co-production across all clinical programmes and workstreams.  The Advisory Board has evolved from a task and finish group which was established following the recommendation from the evaluation of the Beneficial Changes Network, which identified the innovations and improvements made during the pandemic.  The evaluation report identified the critical improvement ingredients for change:

  • Co-production as default
  • Prioritise reducing inequalities
  • Leadership for innovation
  • Innovation-Friendly Environment

The full report can be found here.

The findings were reported to the Quality and Innovation Committee at NHSE/I and were endorsed and has led to the establishment of the Advisory Board which oversees the work to move towards co-production being the default position across the NHS. The ambition is that all improvements are co-produced with people with lived experience, based on what matters to them, their families and carers.

The Professional Record Standards Body has published a survey to gain feedback from professionals and people on its draft shared decision making information standard. The results will help inform the final information standard due to be published in Summer 2022.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and closes on 18th March 2022. You can complete the survey here.
