Call for evidence: Mandatory COVID certification in Plan B
The government is now inviting responses to the details on the proposed certification regime which could be introduced as part of Plan B of the 2021 Autumn/Winter Plan.
The policy is still being shaped, and responses on the workability of the proposed policy may still impact the final product.
If mandatory certification is introduced, the government’s current proposal is that every person aged 18 or over providing services (including volunteering) in person in venues where certification would be expected to either be:
- fully vaccinated
- exempt (for medical reasons, or as a result of clinical trial participation in a COVID-19 vaccine trial)
- undertaking regular, supervised testing
The consultation closes at 11:45pm on 11 October 2021. You can take part in the consultation here.
