#FaithinPartnership Week

11th – 15th September 2023

See what happened during our week celebrating and championing cross-sector working!

Would you like to help shape NHS services?

The Local Health and Care Record Programme (LHCR) is designed to support local areas that are already adopting best practice in the collection, protection and ethical use of health and care data to go further, faster and encourage others to follow swiftly in their footsteps.

The LHCR is looking for a Patient and Public Voice Partner (PPV) to be a member of their Information Governance Assurance Panel. Patient and public participation is an essential part of NHS England’s way of working. The term ‘patients and public voice (PPV) partners’ includes patients, service users, carers and families and the general public.

The PPV Partner will bring important views and perspectives of the family and service user to the Panel. The PPV Partner will champion these views ensuring that these are represented in the panel process.

The role of the PPV Partner is to help build public trust in the use of health and care data so that it can be used to improve care. The PPV Partner will be positive about the use of data for improving health and care but also highlight any challenges or risks.

All applicants must have a commitment to improving patient care, through effective information sharing across health and care, as well as a good understanding of data privacy and/or information governance and barriers to information sharing.

Applicants will bring strong intellect, sound judgement and a willingness to challenge.

The purpose of the Information Governance Panel for the LHCR Programme is:

  • To assess the evidence submitted by Local Health and Care Record Exemplars (LHCREs) against the assurance checkpoints contained within the Information Governance Framework, to assure that LHCREs are compliant with the IG Framework.
  • To report decisions to the LHCR Programme Board on Panel submissions, decisions and key themes.

As PPV Partner, you will be able to receive an involvement payment of £150 per day (for those people not representing or supported by an organisation) for an estimated time commitment of 6 to12 days per year. This is in line with the NHS England Patient and Public Voice Expenses policy. Membership of the group is for 12 months initially, at which point membership will be reviewed.
