Opportunities for people with personal health budgets to give their views

If you, or people you work with, receive a personal health budget (PHB) or integrated personal budget (IPB, combining health and social care funding), NHS England would like to hear about your/their experiences. It is running a survey which is open until Monday 30 April, and you can complete it online. All survey responses will be anonymised and used to help improve how PHBs are offered in England.

There are also two other ways in which people with PHBs can get involved.

#myPHBstory event

#myPHBstory is an event for people with PHBs and/or their family carers. It will bring people together to celebrate the difference personal health budgets are making to their lives, and provide an opportunity for people to share their stories and connect with others. #myPHBstory will take place on Wednesday 9 May 2018, from 10am to 4pm, at the Kia Oval, London. For more information about how to express an interest in attending please visit to the Peoplehub website . The deadline for expressions of interest is Monday 16 April 2018.

Peer Leadership Academy for people with lived experience of personalised approaches to health and social care

The Peer Leadership Academy is a personal development programme for people who want to influence and shape personalised care at a national, regional and local level. To apply you must be an individual or family carer who has a PHB or IPB for health and social care. You must also be willing to commit to playing an ongoing role in shaping policy and practice within personalised care at a national and local level.

The academy takes place over six days in  May, June and July 2018, and participation in all sessions is essential. These will be delivered as three, two-day residential events in Loughborough on:

  • 22 and 23 May
  • 12 and 13 June
  • 24 and 25 July.
