FaithAction Coffee House: Equipping your community with financial advice and support

Date
Wednesday, 2nd September 2020
Time
11:00am - 12:00pm

We’re opening up a weekly FaithAction Coffee House for all of our members.

With the help of one or two guest speakers, we will facilitate a conversation on a topic of interest to you, before opening the floor for each of you to share any stories, best-practices, or challenges you’ve faced. It’s an opportunity for each of you to share what you’ve learnt with others, and to glean wisdom and ideas from each other as you learn about what other members around the country are up to.

You’re likely facing many of the same challenges; why not see if anyone else has a solution!

This week’s theme will be equipping your community with financial advice and support

While we may not have individually felt the crunch of it just yet, the effects of COVID-19 on our economy are going to be harsh. Many in your communities have likely already been furloughed; many more are likely to experience increased financial hardships over the coming months. As leaders and members of faith communities, it is going to be important to know how to support, advise and direct your communities to resources that can support them.

During this next Coffee House, we want to invite practitioners, leaders, and congregants together to discuss and plan for the challenges ahead. Do you work for a charity that provides advice and support to those struggling financially? Do you lead a faith community and desire to know more about how to support them? Are you well-connected in your neighbourhood or community and desire to know where to point others for help? Join us on Wednesday to discuss and learn together.
