The Childhood Trust

The Childhood Trust supports child-focused charities in London to run fundraising campaigns and leverages match-funding for the funds raised.

About the campaigns

They work in partnership with The Big Give to run two match-funding campaigns each year:

For both campaigns, they are looking for charities running projects with children and young people from low income families based in London.

The campaigns both use the Big Give’s match-funding model and application process, with the match funding coming from The Childhood Trust in form of a grant. Reporting is required on the funds raised.

The Summer Give is changing!

The Summer Give has historically supported charities running projects during the summer holidays. However, in 2020, they will be expanding the campaign to support projects taking place through any of the school holidays across the year (Christmas, Easter, Summer and half terms).

Capacity Building

In addition to the matched funds, The Childhood Trust builds charities’ capacity to run successful fundraising campaigns with:

  • Workshops on how to run a successful fundraising campaign, including topics such as how to formulate your campaign messaging and how to use social media effectively
  • One-to-one support on any aspect of the campaign
  • Connections with other charities working with children and young people across London
  • Raised profile and visibility through broader campaigns, events and other activities to raise awareness of the issues around child poverty and drive traffic to the charities
