Commission urges charities to take part in consultation on protecting against terrorist abuse

The Charity Commission has urged charities to take part in a global consultation on protecting organisations against abuse and exploitation by terrorist groups.
The Financial Action Task Force, the global standard setting body for anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing, is consulting on recommendations that collectively represent the global standard every country is expected to meet.
Recommendation 8 focuses on non-profits and measures to prevent them being abused for the financing of terrorism.
