Three new reports on partnership working between faith and local government.

Morrisons joins #GivingTuesday campaign

Supermarket chain Morrisons is to participate in #GivingTuesday this year, in support of its charity partner Sue Ryder.

Morrisons is the first supermarket to back the initiative, which launched in the UK last year. First celebrated in the US in 2012, #GivingTuesday asks people to mark the day by doing something for a good cause after the shopping days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

The supermarket will run a range of initiatives in support of #GivingTuesday, including encouraging staff to “Dress Festive” in return for a donation and staging a national bag pack coordinated by in-store Community Champions.

Head of corporate affairs at Morrisons David Scott said the company is delighted to be supporting #GivingTuesday.

“It provides a fantastic opportunity to highlight the work Sue Ryder does but also offers a chance for our staff and customers to come together to celebrate giving for a day,” Scott said.
