New awards to recognise contributions to society

Companies’ efforts to improve society will be recognised at a new awards ceremony next year, launched to celebrate the contribution the private sector makes to making the world a fairer and safer place.

The Better Society Awards, launched by Charity Times, will take place in May and reward those corporates whose efforts extend beyond commercial success and make valuable contributions to society.

Awards will be presented in more than 20 categories and celebrate environmental excellence, sustainable investing, HR best practice, business ethics, transparency, support for non-profit organisations, and more.

The new event is separate but complementary to the Charity Times awards, which are in their 15th year and were sold out.

Publishing director Mark Evans noted that organisations other than charities make a vital contribution to improving society, and it is high time this is appropriately recognised by their own awards ceremony.
