The People’s Millions

A joint initiative between the Big Lottery Fund and ITV, The People’s Millions are awarding four grants of between £20,000 and £50,000 to each of the 19 ITV news regions in the UK. Grants are aimed at community-based projects that will improve the lives of people in the community and inspire people to get involved. Shortlisted projects will be featured on ITV regional news in November, with the grant winners will be chosen by a viewer phone vote. Closing date for applications is noon on 16th May 2014.

Hilden Charitable Fund

The Hilden Charitable Fund is offering grants, with an average value of £5,000, to UK charities running projects involved with one of the following: homelessness; penal issues; community initiatives for disadvantaged young people; asylum seekers/refugees. Funding is also available for overseas projects dealing with community development, education or health. Grants are aimed at smaller charities, with a maximum turnover of £200,000. Deadline for applications is 30th May 2014.

Santander Social Enterprise Development Awards

Santander has launched it’s annual Social Enterprise Development Awards for 2014, offering prizes of up to £10,000 to support charities and community groups in increasing trading and of up to £5,000 to social enterprises looking to grow. Applicants for either award must be working towards one of three outcomes: improving social inclusion; supporting disadvantaged people through skills, training or employment, or creating a greener environment. Closing date for applications is 21st May 2014 for the £10,000 awards and 16th June 2014 for the £5,000 awards.
