ITV seeks charities for this year’s Text Santa appeal

Charities can apply to participate in the broadcaster's fundraising campaign, which in its first three years raised more than £15m

ITV is looking for four to six charities to be part of its 2014 festive fundraising appeal Text Santa.

In the first three years of the broadcaster’s fundraising campaign, which it describes as "ITV's version of Children in Need", it has raised a total of more than £15m. Text Santa charities also benefit from high-profile national media coverage through programming.

Applications opened at noon today and close on 10 March.

Charities applying, which must have average annual incomes of more than £1.5m over the past three years, should be active in at least two of the four UK nations and intend to fund UK-based projects "to provide practical and tangible help for people in need", according to ITV’s criteria.
