British Red Cross recruits football and fashion veteran as new chair

The British Red Cross has appointed a former Football Association chair, David Bernstein, to lead its board of trustees.

From January Bernstein will replace the charity's previous chair Lord Allen of Kensington, who has been appointed to the House of Lords.

Bernstein said of his appointment: “I am greatly honoured to have been appointed chair of this marvellous organisation, and to have the opportunity of continuing Charles Allen’s great work with the board of trustees and senior management team. I look forward to making a meaningful contribution over the coming years.”
