This week, we thought it would be good to give you an update on what the FaithAction team have been up to, what we have been planning and what is going to happen in the near future.



Guest Blog: faith group in mental health wards

New Staff members

FaithAction has recently recruited two new members of staff.  Chris Miller, who used to be our website administrator in a volunteer capacity, has now officially joined the team two days a week.  Chris has brought some excellent skills to the FaithAction website, e-news and social media and he will be looking on expanding all these areas shortly.  If you have any website queries, you can get in touch with him at [email protected]

Virginia Kpayser has joined the FaithAction team as our Admin and Events Co-ordinator.  As we look to do more as a FaithAction team, and with the Together in Service programme coming online (see below), Virginia has joined to help us out three days a week.  She can be contacted at [email protected]

Daniel Singleton (National Executive Director), Felicity Smith (National Co-ordinator) and Hannah Walker (Policy and Programme Officer) still remain! You can contact any of the national team on 0845 094 6350.


Together in Service

As we reported at the start of October, FaithAction is working with the Department of Communities and Local Government to provide the Together in Service programme which follows on from A Year of Service.  The launch of this programme will be happening on 21st November.

The Together in Service programme will also have a grant fund, available to faith based groups and organisations who wish to run a social action project.  We will be launching the fund on 21st and will be holding our first briefing event on 3rd December 2013 in the morning in Birmingham.

We want to meet you!

On the morning of 3rd December 2013, members of the FaithAction national team will be in Birmingham to meet you!  We will be holding our first Regional Sounding Board which is a great way to hear directly from the national team on what we are working on, as well as let us know your challenges and news.  If you would like to register your interest, please e-mail [email protected].  We will be sending more details out in due course.
