COMMISSIONING: Department of Education Film – Innovation in Schools

Open for Applications: 10 July 2013 – 31 July 2013

The Department for Education (DfE), with its agency the National College of Teaching and Leadership (NCTL), is commissioning a longform film to be used across social media channels to show the breadth and variety of what is happening in England’s schools today.

The film will:

  • Be structured around interviews with professionals, pupils and parents, using footage from the classroom to illustrate examples of great work and innovative practice.
  • Support reforms to teacher training by showing prospective teachers the opportunities to innovate and lead in schools today, but will not be part of a specific recruitment campaign.
  • Support school-led improvement by showing what the best professionals are doing and encouraging others to follow suit.

The film will not use ministers or experts. DfE will supply some contacts and case studies and can help broker some initial approaches to schools, but the successful bidder will be expected to perform some independent research and to arrange filming and logistics.
