CSV launches volunteer placement scheme to help smaller charities in London measure impact

The volunteering charity CSV has launched a new initiative aimed at helping small charities measure their impact.
Measuring the Good will train up to 30 volunteers to be placed in up to 30 charities to develop ways of measuring the difference they are making and demonstrating their results.
It is hoped that the scheme will help small charities maintain their services, improve communications and secure funding.
CSV is looking for small and medium-sized charities in London to take part in the scheme, with annual turnovers of more than £150,000. Each participating charity will be allocated one volunteer.
The scheme has been funded by £7,000 from both the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the Garfield Weston Foundation. CSV is providing and training volunteers for the project, which was developed by the Coalition of Efficiency, a charity that helps other voluntary sector organisations become more efficient.
Beverly Frain, head of employee volunteering at CSV, said: "We can provide highly-skilled volunteers to benefit charities that are finding it difficult to capture their impact data.
"In these tough economic times, smaller charities in particular are struggling and by enlisting the help of skilled volunteers, we are making significant inroads to allow them to maximise their offer and highlight the remarkable work they carry out."
CSV is also looking for skilled volunteers to take part in the initiative, which will run between June and September. The deadline for applications for volunteers and charities is 3 June.
