Police Chaplain urges Norwich church support

Rev James East, a Force Chaplain for Norfolk Constabulary, is encouraging all churches in Norwich to show support for a 'National Day of Prayer for the Police' Service on Thursday 17th May

The Christian Police Association will host their 'National Day of Prayer for the Police' Service at Norwich Central Baptist Church on Thursday 17th May, 7.30 pm

The evening event will include testimonies from serving police officers, an address from Rev James East, Force Chaplain and Minister of Norwich Central Baptist Church, and prayers led by PC Marie Reavey. Music will be provided by the Joint Winner of BBC Radio Norfolk's Choir of the Year, Catton Community Choir

Rev James East said: “It’s wonderful to stand alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ who are police officers. The Christian Police Association has members and meetings in every single police hub in East Anglia

“The Service is a demonstration of support and love for the men and women who, on a daily basis, put themselves in harm’s way to protect and serve us

“It would be wonderful if all of the city churches could be represented in some way”

Everyone is warmly invited to come along to the event. A collection will be taken up in aid of Help for Heroes. The service will be followed by tea and cakes
