FUNDING: Warwick – Small Grants Scheme

Grants are available to community and voluntary groups, charities, clubs and societies in Warwick for one-off projects that will have a positive impact on the wider community in Warwick.
Maximum Value: £2,000
Grants of up to £2,000 are available.
Warwick District Council provides and administers the Small Grants Scheme.
Funding is intended to support the voluntary and community sector for small-scale one-off projects that provide new opportunities for local people, that benefit the local community and that contribute to the Warwick District Sustainable Community Strategy.
The Council is keen to fund projects that contribute to the Strategy and the cross cutting theme of "engaging and strengthening communities".
Applications are due by 31 May 2012
To be eligible, applicants must:
Be a non-profit-making group, such as a registered charity, a voluntary or community group, a club or a society.
Have a bank account in the group's name.
Have the support of a local ward Warwick District Councillor for the proposed project.
Eligible projects should address the following:
Improve and/or enhance the physical environment.
Promote health and well being.
Make neighbourhoods feel safe.
Improve quality of life.
Build up the strength of communities and neighbourhoods.
Encourage vulnerable and/or excluded individuals and groups to participate in community life.
Costs associated with one-off projects, particularly those taking place during the summer, or equipment.
Grants could be used to help set up a new group, build the capacity of an existing group, run a new project or service, or enable an organisation or partnership to play a key role in the delivery of public services locally.
Match Funding Restrictions
Projects applying for part funding need to demonstrate where other funds will come from.
Funding is not available for:
Ongoing costs (unless there is a clear plan of funding after the contribution from the Small Grants Scheme).
Repairs, maintenance or cosmetic alterations of premises.
Projects that only benefit an individual.
In most cases grants will be paid at the start of the project.
Application and guidance forms can be downloaded from the Warwick District Council website when the scheme is available.
The following information must be submitted along with the completed application form:
Group accounts for the previous year, including donations and other grants received from any funder.
Latest bank statement showing account balance.
A copy of the constitution and/or Articles of Association/terms of reference.
Public liability insurance document.
Business plan and/or service delivery schedule for the next year (if available).
