Further Information

Bath and North East Somerset Council is inviting applications for the provision of a service to build resilience in the communities of Bath and North East Somerset and within the area's Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations.

The Council will require the following outcomes from the service:

  • A sustainable model for providing information, advice and support to VCSE organisations, so they are better able to take opportunities and meet current and future challenges. The service is aimed at all VCSE organisations in B&NES, but will particularly benefit:

    • Start-up and fledgling organisations.
    • Established organisations that are at risk and/or are dependent on public service funds.
    • Established organisations wishing to expand or to adopt new business models.
    • Organisations that seek to support the most vulnerable in the community.
  • More people undertaking community and volunteering roles, both directly within communities and participating in organised, community-led groups.
  • More organisations depending on non-public service funding sources including income generated.
  • More external funding attracted to deliver local priority projects.
  • Strengthened relationships between organisations and public services, including elected members.
  • Organisations and communities with strengthened capacity to support public services and engage with new delivery models such as co-production.
  • Effective listening to local VCSE organisations which delivers a stronger voice within the B&NES ‘family’ of partnerships and clearer leadership.
  • Effective communication channels that enable constructive dialogue between VCSE organisations and their partners.
  • Effective promotion of the value and work of VCSE organisations and their potential impact on service outcomes.
  • More community based organisations supported to deliver against identified need.
