Grants are available for local community groups and charities with projects that benefit local communities located near a RWE npower wind turbine development or power station in the UK. Preference will be given to projects in education, health and the environment.

Extended Description
The RWE npower Community Benefit Fund grants are provided and administered by RWE npower to support community development projects in the UK, preferably those located near to RWE npower wind turbine developments or power stations.
Funding is available to assist community groups and charities with projects which benefit the local community. Preference will be shown towards projects that address one of the following areas:

Education.
-
Environment.
-
Health.

Key Criteria
Funding is available for community groups and charities located near to RWE npower wind turbine developments or power stations.
Organisations should be one of the following:

Registered with the Charity Commission, Inland Revenue, or Scottish Registered Charities.

A CASC member with Inland Revenue, or a local education authority.
Organisations which do not fit one of the above categories will be required to go through rigorous checks by the Charities Aid Foundation.

Costs associated with eligible projects.
Match Funding Restrictions
Match funding is not a specified requirement.
Restrictions
Funding is not available for the following:

Projects which promote a particular religion.
-
Politically biased charities.
-
Third-party organisations.
-
Administration costs.
-
Employee costs.
Funding for animal welfare charities will only be considered if the charity provides a suitable educational resource for children.
