Report Launch: “Keeping the Faith”

In our role as Secretariat to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Faith and Society, we want to let you know about an event next week, launching a report commissioned by the APPG on faith-council partnerships during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Report Launch: “Keeping the Faith” – 3pm, 12^th November

Anecdotal evidence suggested that local authorities worked with churches and faith groups in new ways during the coronavirus pandemic. With faith groups apparently having played such a significant role, the All-Party Parliamentary Group wanted to assess what their contribution might be in the longer term.

The research, jointly funded by Trussell Trust and Sir Halley Stewart Trust, was conducted by the Faiths & Civil Society Unit at Goldsmiths, University of London. As well as exploring the extent and nature of new relationships between councils and faith groups, the study examined how and why these relationships came about, how they worked in practice, and their implications for local authorities, communities, and faith groups themselves.
