Introduction to safety and security in Gurdwaras workshop

Gurdwaras are finding themselves in challenging situations with regards to security issues. This workshop will help them to be better prepared in such circumstances.

This workshop is primarily focused for Gurdwara management committees and sewadars.

It will cover the following:

• Raise awareness of UK Government security, threat levels and contest strategy: Prevent, Pursue, Protect and Prepare;
• Understand the risks to the Gurdwara and sangat;
• Ensuring staff and volunteers (sevadars) understand their roles and responsibilities;
• Raise awareness of funding and support opportunities to improve security in Gurdwaras.

Officials from the Home Office will also give a presentation on how to apply for the Places of Worship Security Funding scheme.
