FaithAction Coffee House: Partnering with Local Authorities

Date
Wednesday, 12th August 2020
Time
11:00am - 12:00pm

We’re opening up a weekly FaithAction Coffee House for all of our members.

With the help of one or two guest speakers, we will facilitate a conversation on a topic of interest to you, before opening the floor for each of you to share any stories, best-practices, or challenges you’ve faced. It’s an opportunity for each of you to share what you’ve learnt with others, and to glean wisdom and ideas from each other as you learn about what other members around the country are up to.

You’re likely facing many of the same challenges; why not see if anyone else has a solution!

Next week’s theme will be partnering with local authorities.

While many faith-based organisations have strong links with their local councils, it is sometimes difficult to know where to begin the conversation. Good engagement with councils can lead to a greater awareness of local faith-based assets and also result in funding opportunities, consultation and greater involvement.

COVID-19 has highlighted the need for local authorities to work alongside faith groups that have provided vital support and help for vulnerable communities – we would love to hear your experiences of this, good or bad.

Come along to share your experiences and find how best to approach your local authority and build lasting relationships.
