WannaCry cyber attack lessons learned

A review is being undertaken to analyse key lessons learned from the WannaCry cyber attack on 12 May 2017, which affected the NHS and other organisations. The review will assess the actions required to manage the risk and impact of a future cyber attack and ensure this learning is widely shared and implemented across the health and care system.

The review is keen to tell patients’ stories about the impact WannaCry had on them, for example where operations and appointments were cancelled or communication of test results was delayed.

If you were affected by WannaCry as a patient and/or patient representative and would like to share your experiences (which will be anonymised), the review team would like to hear from you.

Please contact [email protected] (review lead) as soon as possible and ideally no later than 27 November 2017.
