Together in Service
Together in Service was a programme successfully run by FaithAction with the support of the Department of Communities and Local Government. Its aims were to celebrate the contributions that faith groups make to society, and to support multi-faith social projects on a local level via a grant programme. The programme came to a close on 31st March 2015.
Through the Together in Service grants programme, FaithAction has given out £160,000 of funding via grants of £2,000 and £5,000. These grants have supported 57 social action projects in their work, which included events showcasing the music, art and dance of different cultures and faiths, faith groups working together to renovate local green spaces for the community, and workshops exploring the role that faith can play in prisons.
For the future, FaithAction will be building on our experience with Together in Service in order to provide the support faith groups and faith-based organisations need to deliver the innovative and sustainabile social action that makes a real difference.
Together in Service’s work will continue through the programmes and campaigns FaithAction will deliver across its national network, and, as always, we endeavor to keep highlighting the amazing work being done out there every day by faith groups.
