About Us

FaithAction is a national network representing faith and community organisations delivering public services. Our work involves bringing together organisations from all regions of England that are already or would like to deliver such services.

The purpose of the network is to support faith and community organisations as they partner locally with statutory organisations to deliver services for the benefit of the communities in which they are based.

Information is available for smaller organisations wanting to develop the skills necessary to do this. For larger organisations already delivering contracts there are opportunities to develop new partnerships and joint bids.

Funded directly by central government as one of 20 strategic organisations that together create an effective voice for the voluntary sector, FaithAction has been developed as a partnership between three leading faith-based organisations – LifeLine, Faithworks and the Faith Regen Foundation. Together these three organisations will facilitate regional hubs in each of the nine English regions as well as a new national taskforce that will promote interaction between government and local organisations.

Founding Partners

Over the last five years, LifeLine has developed significant expertise in managing and delivering large public service contracts. This expertise includes tendering for government contracts, accreditation and quality assurance, putting together delivery consortia and working in partnership across sectors. The high quality of services provided by LifeLine and the organisation’s ability to deliver consistently high quality services has been recognised by a range of public sector organisations. Faithworks
The Faithworks Movement exists to empower and inspire local churches to develop their role at the heart of their community, in order to see the lives of individuals and communities transformed.

The Movement is made up of thousands of individual members and affiliated churches, projects and organisations. Members and Affiliates enjoy the benefit of the Faithworks library of resources which has been put together to equip churches to put their faith in practice and serve their communities more effectively. The Movement is supported by many leading denominations and church networks.

Since its launch in February 2001, Faithworks has been working hard to challenge and change the public perception of the Church by engaging both media and the government. In order to achieve this Faithworks regularly meets with influential decision-makers to ensure that faith-based community projects have a high priority in the setting of local and national governmental policy. Faithworks also works to ensure that the media accurately represents the work of local churches and other faith-based projects.
